November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day in India. It marks the birth anniversary of independent India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the day is dedicated in his remembrance.

Fondly known as Chacha Nehru, the leader was extremely fond of children and believed that children should be given wings to fly rather than limiting their creativity in a nutshell.

Parents should let their children be free and allow them to make mistakes and learn from them, as these qualities will empower them to innovate and build a better nation. Children’s day is also celebrated to raise awareness about children’s rights, child care, and education.
