The Delhi Traffic Police on Tuesday warned citizens of the capital city and surrounding states asking them to avoid the Chilla border on Noida link road, adding that the road had been closed for traffic following the farmers protest.

The Delhi Traffic Police took to social media website Twitter to inform citizens about the link road and wrote, “The chilla border on Noida link road is closed for traffic due to farmers protests near Gautam Budh Dwar.”

In a word of caution the Delhi police added, “People are advised to avoid Noida link road for going to Noida and use NH 24 and DND instead for Noida.”

Farmers across the country have been protesting against the newly implemented farm laws and have gathered at several border crossings just outside the capital city of Delhi.

Farmers protesting the farm laws have continued to squat at Tikri and Singhu borders, refusing to hold protests at Burari.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and his cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal held the meeting with the 35-membered team of farmers’ leaders at Vigyan Bhawan to discuss issues on the farm law on Tuesday. The Government gave a detailed presentation to the farmers’ leaders in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) Act.

Following the meeting, Prem Singh Bhangu, President, All India Kisan Federation, called the talks with the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, ‘good’, and added, “some progress was made. During our next meet on 3rd Dec with govt, we’ll convince them that no clause of Farm law is pro-farmer. Our agitation will continue.”

After the meeting, Union Agriculture Minister Tomar said, “the meeting was good and we have decided that the talks will be held on 3rd December. We wanted a small group to be constituted but farmers’ leaders wanted that the talks should be held with everyone, we do not have a problem with it,” as per ANI.

Tomar also urged farmers to stop protesting and ‘come for talks.” The Union Minister, who introduced the three farms bills in the parliament, said, “The meeting was good and we have decided that the talks will be held on 3rd December. We wanted a small group to be constituted but farmers’ leaders wanted that the talks should be held with everyone, we do not have a problem with it,” as per an ANI.
