“Congratulations India,” Rhea Chakraborty’s father Indrajit said after his son, Showik was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday.

The NCB is a probing a drug angle case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead at his home in Mumbai on June 14. Rhea Chakraborty, who was Rajput’s girlfriend, is accused in his death case. The anti-narcotics bureau, over the last two days, has arrested Rhea’s younger brother Showik, Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and his personal staff Dinesh Sawant.

Reacting to his son’s arrest and the ongoing probe, Lt Col Indrajit Chakraborty (retd) in a statement, said, “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son. I’m sure next on the line is my daughter and I don’t know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle-class family.”

The statement has been shared by his lawyer Satish Manshinde to Opoyi.

“But of course, for the sake of justice, everything is justified. Jai Hind,” Indrajit added in his statement.

In the latest, the NCB has summoned Rhea Chakraborty at her house and has asked her to join the ongoing probe. The anti-narcotics bureau on Saturday told the court that Showik needs to be confronted with Rajput’s personal staff and his sister Rhea.

A Mumbai court on Saturday sent Showik and Samuel Miranda in NCB custody till September 9.

Three central agencies, the NCB, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are probing various angles linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

The Mumbai Police had initially said that the actor died due to suicide. However, the case was later handed over to the following a plea by Rajput’s family in the Supreme Court.
