The protest by farmers, over the three farm laws enacted in September, has entered day 24 on Saturday. Despite several rounds of inconclusive talks between farmers and the Central government, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh
Tomar expressed hope on Friday of resolving the issue before the new year, PTI reported.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed on Friday farmers of Madhya Pradesh where he lashed out at the Opposition, accusing them of advocating such laws but criticising them because they were enacted by his government.
Meanwhile, the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), a key member of the ‘Samyukta Kisan Morcha’ that is spearheading the ‘Dilli Chalo’ agitation asserted that the issue should be resolved by the government and not the Supreme Court.
The three farm laws were enacted in September during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, amid intense Opposition uproar.
