Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated at a press conference that he’d been apprised by sources about the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arresting Health Minister Satyendar Jain, in the coming days.

Kejriwal took the opportunity to clarify that the ED had previously conducted two raids against Jain, but didn’t find anything incriminating. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief stated that they’re welcome to try this time as well, extending support to his fellow party member.

The Delhi Chief Minister also didn’t pass up the chance to take a swipe at the Narendra Modi-led central government, saying that they could send all the agencies at their disposal to Satyendra Jain, Manish Sisodia and Bhagwant Mann. The statement was clear, “We are not afraid”. With this, AAP has drawn the line in the sand, ahead of the upcoming state elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Manipur, which will also be contested by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who’ve formed the central government.

Kejriwal also didn’t spare the Congress, referring to the recent ED raids against Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. He said, “We will not cry like Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on ED raids. He is frustrated because he had done wrong… We have not done anything wrong so we are not afraid”.

Notably, the Delhi Chief Minister has been attacking Channi since the ED targeted him for an illegal sand mining case. Crores of rupees were seized from his home, which has helped build AAP’s confidence that Channi would lose the upcoming elections.

The 117-seat Punjab assembly election was slated to witness polling on February 14. This has now been pushed to February 20, due to Ravidas Jayanti. Votes will be counted and results declared on March 10. AAP, who had come second in the 2017 elections will be looking to do better this time.
