Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal on
Thursday approved Delhi Government’s suggestion of reopening bars in Delhi from September 9, reported news agency ANI. Delhi Disaster
Management Authority issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for
operationalisation of bars in Delhi.

According to the SOP, bars in
containment zones to remain closed, only asymptomatic staff/customers allowed
entry and not more than 50% of approved seating capacity to be allowed so that social
distancing norms may be maintained.

Other SOPs mentioned are as follows:

Mandatory provisions for hand
hygiene and thermal screening at the entrance to be made without fail.

No standing customer shall be served
by the hotel/restaurant or club.

Adequate manpower shall be deployed
by the licence for ensuring social distancing norms.

Only asymptomatic staff shall be
allowed for duty in the premises. Staff shall wear gloves, face masks and
maintain complete health hygiene such as frequent washing of hands use a sanitisers
extra

Proper disposal of face covers, mask,
gloves left over by the customers and staff must be insured in addition to
above all measures outlined in a SOPs dated June 4, 2020, for hotels/restaurants
issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to be
strictly ensured.

In any case of violation of the
above SOP is noticed by inspection teams of district disaster management
authority/excise department, the owner of the establishment shall be proceeded
against as per the provisions of section 51 to 60 of disaster management act
2005 besides legal action under section 188 of IPC.

Prosecution
shall also be launched against the general manager/manager of the premises and
the premises shall be sealed forthwith. The excise licence of the establishment
shall also be liable to be cancelled.
