Anubhav Bhasin, 33, and Anna Horodetska, 29, met on a trip and have been dating for about two and a half years.

“We met again in Dubai after the lockdown ended, and she came to India while I went to Kyiv. She visited India in December of last year and met my family, and it was then that we decided to marry. She then returned to Ukraine “According to Anubhav.

On February 24, when the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, Anna awoke to the sound of bombs. For the next three days, she went in and out of bomb shelters.

Anna decided to take a bus to Poland after spending the night of February 27 in Lviv. She later learned, however, that people had been waiting at the Polish border for more than 24 hours and had been unable to cross. As a result, she boarded a bus bound for the Slovakian border. She eventually crossed the border on foot after a couple of hours of waiting.

Anna then found a minibus to Kraków, Poland, where she stayed for a couple of weeks.

“I had some friends there who assisted her and provided her with lodging,” Anubhav explained.
