Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced a 6-day lockdown in the national capital from 10 pm tonight till 5 am on April 26 after Delhi reported over 25,000 cases for three days in a row.

“Delhi’s health system has reached its limits. I don’t say that the system has collapsed but it has reached its limits,” Arvind Kejriwal said in a press conference.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 6-day lockdown in the national capital: 

1.   Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi’s health
system has been stretched to its limit and is under stress. 

2.   Positivity rate and infection have increased
in the national capital because of which there’s a shortage of beds, he said. 

3.   During the lockdown, the government will make
arrangements for more beds and to arrange oxygen, medicine.

4.   Essential services, food services, medical
services will continue in Delhi during the lockdown. 

5.   Weddings can be held with a gathering of only 50
people and passes will be issued separately for the same, Kejriwal said.

6.   Private medical personnel will be exempted on
the production of valid ID. 

7.   Pregnant women or patients going for medical
aid along with an attendant will be exempted on production of valid ID/doctor’s
prescription/medical papers. 

8.   Those going for testing/vaccination will also
be exempted on production of a valid ID.
