Dev
Deepawali 2021: History

The demon
Tarakasura had three sons named Tarakasksha, Vidyunmail and Kamalasksha. All
were blessed by Lord Brahma, who was moved by their devotion and granted them
immortality. Lord Brahma’s boon was the three could only be killed by just one
arrow.  Soon after this, the demons went on a rampage. Lord Shiva decided
to deal with this in his own way. He took the avatar of Tripurari or
Tripurantaka and killed the demons with one arrow to thereby bringing peace and
happiness everywhere.
