Elliot Page, known for starring in movies like ‘Juno’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ shared his gender identity with fans in an Instagram post on Monday, expressing gratitude for the support they lent.

Page asked to be identified as ‘Non-Binary’, a term used to describe the gender identity of someone who is neither man nor woman.

Page also said his preferred pronouns will be ‘he’ and ‘they’.

Page released a note on Instagram in which he expressed his situation to the fans.

It stated: “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.”

“I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self,” the actor, who was formerly known publicly as Ellen Page, added.

Page also expressed his gratitude towards the fans, saying: “I also ask for patience, My joy is real, but it is also fragile. The truth is, despite feeling profoundly happy right now and knowing how much privilege I carry, I am also scared. I’m scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and of violence.”
