India took a 2-1 lead against England after defeating the outsiders inside two days at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Joe Root, team England%u2019s captain, too failed with the bat. In the first innings, he scored 17 runs in 37 balls and managed to hit just 2 fours. His strike rate was 45.85 and he lost his wicket to Ravichandran Ashwin.
Second innings was no better for the English skipper, with Axar trapping him leg before for just 19 off 45 balls. This game though will be remembered more for Root’s bowling. He took a 5-wicket haul in the first innings (5-8) and kept his team in the hunt at least till England batted again. Tough luck Joe.
