Delhi Capitals bowler Kagiso Rabada got rid of Kolkata Knight Riders opener Shubman Gill after being brought into the attack for the fielding side.

Rabada bowled five dot balls before dismissing Gill for 30 runs on the last ball of his first over with a slower one.

The South African bowler was brought in to bowl against the Kolkata Knight Riders only after 10 overs had been bowled in the first innings.

Cricket fans, who had been waiting for Rishabh Pant to bring Rabada into attack were finally relieved to see him bowl.

“Teams play KKR just like KKR, nine overs in, no Rabada yet.” –  Fantasy cricket enthusiast Nikhil Tweeted.

“Lalit Yadav is going to bowl out, and Rabada is not. This is the new Sharjah.” –  former Indian cricketer Sneha Pradhan wrote on Twitter.

Rabada has previously been hailed by fans, co-players and team management for his aggressive approach in cricket which translates into encouraging his teammates to push for a win.

Rabada now has 10 wickets in the 13 matches he has played so far this season.

Delhi Capitals bowling coach James Hopes was all praise for Rabada and Anrich Nortje before the game against KKR.

“To be honest the two of them bowl 150 kmph an hour so I’d be disappointed if they weren’t attacking and aggressive.”

“Having both those guys on the park has really enabled us to do that in the power play. At the start of the tournament, with Shreyas being out we decided to play Steve and I think all along our ideal line-up had Nortje and Rabada in it, but we just couldn’t afford to do that at the start of tournament,” Hopes said.
