Farmers from across the country have been protesting against the recently passed farm laws and are currently marching towards Delhi to protest against the laws passed in the parliament.
Farmers heading towards Delhi, who are protesting against the new farm laws have halted near the Panipat toll plaza at the National Highway, as per ANI report.
Security personnel have been deployed at the Singhu border(Haryana-Delhi border) on Friday, reported ANI.
The Centre has remained resolute on the Farm Laws and has emphasised that the three laws do away with the middlemen and allow farmers to sell their produce directly in the commercial market.
Union Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday requested farmers not to agitate but urged them ‘to talk about issues and resolve differences.”
The Haryana Police had on Thursday used water cannons and tear gas to disperse a group of farmers from Punjab who allegedly tried to jump police barricades to enter Haryana as part of their ‘Delhi Chalo’ march against the Centre’s new farm laws.
