After getting a day postponed, the tenth round of talks between farmers and the central government will be held on Wednesday. As of now, farmer unions and the Centre have held nine rounds of talks over the farm laws, all of which have remained inconclusive. Several farmers, majorly from Punjab and Haryana, are staying put at several points of Delhi borders, demanding a complete repeal of farm laws, which were passed in September last year.
The Supreme Court last week stayed the farm laws and formed a committee, who is supposed to meet the farmers on Wednesday. The apex court will also hear will hear a plea filed by the central government, filed through the Delhi Police, seeking an injunction against the tractor rally proposed by the protesting farmers on Republic Day, January 26.
