The agitation by farmers against the Centre’s three agri laws has entered day 75 on Monday. The government and farmers’ leaders have held 11 rounds of talks, the last one being held on January 22. All the talks have remained inconclusive.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday said the government Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajya Sabha on Monday said, “MSP tha, MSP hai aur MSP rahega.” He added, “We have to guard against a new FDI – foreign destructive ideology.”
Soon after PM Modi’s statement, protesting farmer unions asked the government to fix a date for the next round of talks.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address farmer rallies in Rajasthan on Friday.
Thousands of farmers are protesting at Delhi’s borders since November 26 against the three farm laws that were enacted during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
