With 229 terror-related events and incidents last year compared to 417 in 2018, Jammu and Kashmir observed a steep decline of 38% in terror-related incidents over the span of three years. Moreover, the state also recorded fewer fatalities of 46 military personnel and 87 civilians between 2019 and 2021, compared to the time period between 2014 and 2019 when 178 defense personnel and 177 civilians died due to terror-related attacks and incidents. 

Since 2019, J&K has also witnessed a significant improvement in the development of infrastructures such as housing, industries, roadways, healthcare facilities and educational institutions. 

Industrial development in the state has overall increased, thanks to a scheme of Rs. 28,400 crore in 2021 that aims to provide jobs to over 4.50 lakh people.

Roadways

From 39,345 km before 2019 to over 41,000 km at present, road lengths in J&K have increased.

Electricity

Generation and distribution of power have also seen an improvement since 2019. Currently, three projects Uri (stage 2), Dulhasti (stage 2), and the Sawalkote hydro-electric project are under development. They have a combined capacity of 2,894 MW.

Health

Until 2019, only three medical colleges and 20 district hospitals existed in the state. Since then, two AIIMS, seven medical colleges, and several cancer institutions and nursing schools have been added.

Housing and education

Over 1,200 college classrooms in Jammu and Kashmir are now digitally equipped. Both Jammu University and Kashmir University have scored high in NIRF rankings.

Employees 

Since 2019, the 7th Pay Commission has been implemented for government employees.

Civil aviation

To boost tourism revenue, Jammu and Kashmir is open to international aircraft traffic. Air traffic has now increased to four lakh per month, compared to less than two lakh per month before 2019.
