As the Bharatiya Janata Party made gains in early counting trends in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls, leaving the ruling TRS and Owaisi’s AIMIM behind, their leader from Tamil Nadu, Khushbu Sundar called it a ‘deep impact’ in the South.

“We have found our foothold n making a deep impact in South India. Victory in Hyderabad is a proof to that. And let me assure you, #TN is not far. #2021elections we will make a grand entry into TN. Continue to believe in @narendramodi ji and his clean govt,” tweeted the actor-turned-politician who recently shifted from the Congress to the BJP.

Thanking the people of Hyderabad, she wrote, “Results of #GHMCElections2020 in Telengana clearly shows what people want. We have nothing to say. Complete trust in @BJP4India in @narendramodi ji is for all to see. Thank you Hyderabad. And hyderabadis. Miyan n begum saahibas, aap logaan dil Jeet liye.”

The 50-year-old, who was earlier the national spokesperson of the Congress, joined the BJP on October 12, talking about being ‘pushed and suppressed’ in the Congress. “Few elements seated at higher level within the party, people who’ve no connectivity with ground reality or public recognition are dictating terms and people like me who wanted to work for the party sincerely, are being pushed and suppressed,” she wrote in a letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.

At 1 pm, of the trends available from Hyderabad, the BJP was ahead in 41 seats, the TRS in 65 , Owaisi’s AIMIM in 34 and the Congress in 2. Among the outgoing members, the TRS had 99, AIMIM 44 and the BJP 4.
