The New Year is shaping up to be one with a lot of bingeing potential. We have new shows and new seasons of previous shows coming up. Here are a few of the most anticipated TV shows of 2022.

Around the World in 80 days (PBS) – It is a remake of Jules Verne’s classic adventure. David Tennant plays the role of gentleman traveler Phileas Fogg. German actress Leonie Benesch is the journalist In the show. The show is to be released on January 2, 2022.

Peacemaker (HBO Max) – It was initially introduced at the end of The Suicide Squad. John Cena acts as a Peacemaker, a superhero who believes in peace. James Gunn, who wrote and directed The Suicide Squad, wrote all the eight episodes of this show and directed five of them. The show is to release on January 13, 2022.

The Gilded Age (HBO) – Creator Julian Fellowes is also behind this series set in New York City in 1882. Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon play the roles of two old-money socialites with whom the young Marian, played by Meryl Streep’s daughter Louisa Jacobson, ends up living. The show is to release on January 24, 2022.

The Afterparty (Apple TV+) – This is a murder mystery directed by Chris Miller and stars Tiffany Haddish, Ilana Glazer and Dave Franco. The eight-episode series is said to have a different perspective of the characters. And all the characters reframe the story of a murder that takes place during their high school reunion. This is announced to be released in January 2022.

Release dates for shows like The Last of Us, Interview With the Vampire, The Dropout, Bel-Air, Daisy Jones, and Six are not confirmed yet.

A few TV shows are returning with seasons. These are:

All Creatures Great and Small (Season 2) which is to be released on January 9, 2022; Ozark (Season 4) releasing on January 21, 2022; and Sanditon (Season 2), announced to be released on March 20, 2022.
