People celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi by bringing an idol of Ganesh in their homes; some do it openly beneath pandals/tents. The idol is then immersed
in a river body following group prayers, modak distribution, and final
immersion.
The festival includes an exchange of warm wishes between friends and family.
