The RRR-inspired Ganapati idols have taken over the Indian market this year.  Lord Ganesha statues in the style of Ram Charan’s look from the film have been trending in many parts of India. It is not the first time that SS Rajamouli’s film has created a trend in the theme of Ganapati celebrations. Soon after the release of Bahubali in 2015, Lord Ganesha statues were also made inspired by the scene where Prabhas was seen carrying a Shivling in the film.

Six months after the release of the film, this trend has again come up.  The warrior look of actor Ram Charan has inspired several Ganpati idols across the whole country.

Twitteratis and different fan clubs of Ram Charan have shared pictures from different pandals where idols have been designed in the style of Ram Charan’s look.

The pictures shared on Twitter showcase the deity in a running position, similar to Ram Charan’s famous stills from the film. One of the fans commented, “Insane craze of @AlwaysRamCharan. Demi-God for masses is the right word For RC”.  Another fan shared a post that had a picture of Lord Ganesha fighting with a tiger, similar to how Jr NTR’s character did in the film.

Apart from the viral pictures, Sita, an artisan from Delhi, said that she and her group made 50 RRR-inspired idols over the last month and it all sold out within days. “We priced them around ₹10,000, and people booked all of them even before they were finished. They are the most in-demand.”

The film RRR was released on March 25 this year and it starred Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody. The film has earned over 1,200 crore at the global box office and is the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
