Gold prices were trading down on Friday, ahead of the much-anticipated US inflation figures coming later in the day, which might shape the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy in the future.

Treasury rates in the United States increased, and the currency strengthened, reducing demand for zero-yield gold. Market players are anticipating US consumer price index data later in the day in order to confirm that inflation peaked in March.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Friday, June 10, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,864.00 per 10 gm, down 141 points or 0.28%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 61,164.00 per kg, down 247 points or 0.40%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,843.91 per oz while Silver is priced at $21.66. Platinum was trading at $968.56 while palladium was trading at $1,939.88. 

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,810 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 61,806 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 784.80 down 0.33% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 702.10 and Rs 231.55 per Kg respectively on MCX. 

According to the Good Returns website, ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,950 in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. In Chennai, the same amount of valuable yellow metal is bought and sold for Rs 48,060.

The 24-carat gold price, ten grams of the metal costs Rs 52,310 in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. In Chennai, the same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,430.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,980 and Rs 47,800 in Surat and Nagpur, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat gold is worth Rs 52,350 in Surat and Rs 52,360 in Nagpur.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,950 in Kerala, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Similarly, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is being marketed at Rs 47,950 in Mysore, Vishakhapatnam, and Mangalore. In all of the aforesaid places, Ten grams of 24-carat gold is valued at Rs 52,310.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 48,100 and Rs 48,060 in Jaipur and Coimbatore, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,450 in Jaipur and Rs 52,430 in Coimbatore.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold is worth Rs 47,800 and Rs 48,060 in Pune and Madurai, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,360 in Pune and Rs 52,340 in Madurai.
