Brendan
Gleeson along with other Irish stars have been nominated for the 78th
annual Golden Globes. Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson declared the
nominees this afternoon ahead of the awards ceremony going to be held later
this month.

Gleeson:
The 65-year-old actor is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for
Television for
his role of Donald Trump in the ‘Comedy Rule’. He will compete with John
Boyega for ‘Small Axe’, Dan Levy for ‘Schitt’s Creek’, Jim Parsons for ‘Hollywood’ and Donald Sutherland for ‘The Undoing’.

Edgar-Jones:
The British actor is nominated for Best Actress in a
Limited Series for her role in ‘Normal People’.

Normal
People:
The Irish drama is based on Sally Rooney’s novel and is nominated
in the Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
category. The popular series will compete with ‘The Queen’s Gambit’, ‘Small
Axe’, ‘The Undoing’, and ‘Unorthodox’.

Wolfwalkers:
Irish animated film is nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture.
Produced by Cartoon Saloon, the
film will compete with ‘The Croods: A New
Age’ (Universal Pictures), ‘Onward’ (Walt Disney Pictures), ‘Over the Moon’
(Netflix) and ‘Soul’ (Walt Disney Pictures).

Golden Globes Awards will be
broadcasted from New York and Los Angeles on February 28th this
year. The ceremony will be hosted by Tina who will be live from the Rockefeller
Centre in Manhattan and Amy who will present the show from the Beverly Hilton
Hotel in LA.
