2020 has been a bad year for the entertainment industry. Not only has the pandemic forced people to lose their jobs and cause losses worth millions, but the death of many beloved people from the industry has been both shocking and devastating.

 From actors, musicians, reality show stars, writers and producers, it has been a tough year. Lets take a look at some of the stars of Hollywood, who died in 2020:

Chadwick Boseman

Boseman died in August from complications relating to colon cancer, which he was diagnosed with 2016. Although he had a long career since the 90s, the 43-year-old gained popularity when he became the first Black actor to headline an MCU movie when he played the role of T’chala in Black Panther.

Sean Connery

The first actor to play the iconic role of James Bond, Connery died peacefully in his sleep in October. Connery played Bond in seven films and won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in ‘The Untouchables’.

Naya Rivera

Rivera died in July after drowning  in Lake Piru near Santa Clarita, California, while swimming with her son, Josey, who was found alone on a rented boat. 

Eddie Van Halen

Legendary guitarist and co-founder of Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen died in October after a long battle with cancer. He was widely considered one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

Diana Rigg

Famous for her role as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones, Rigg died at the age of 82 in September. She was also part of the 1969  James Bond film, ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.

Kobe Bryant

One of NBA’s all-time greatest players, Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna in January. He won an Oscar in 2018 for animated short film ‘Dear Basketball’, which he wrote and produced.

Kelly Preston

Famous for her role in ‘Jerry Maguire’, actor Kelly Preston died at the age of 57 after battling breast cancer. Her husband, actor John Travolta took to Instagram to announce her death. 

David Prowse

Former bodybuilder, who was best known for playing Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy, Prowse died at the age of 85 in November.

Elsa Raven

Best known for her small role in hit 1985 film ‘Back to the Future,’ Elsa Raven died in November at her Los Angeles home at the age of 91. She also played small parts in several sitcoms and TV shows during her decades-long career.

Stevie Lee

Stevie Lee, who was famous for his role in 2010 film ‘Jackass 3D’ and was also a pro-wrestler died unexpectedly at the age of 54 in September.
