The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 started on Sunday, October 18. A total of 16 countries are taking part in the event, which is being played in two phases.

The first of those phases saw eight teams in two groups take on each other to fight for a place in the second phase of the tournament – the Super 12 round. Two teams from Group A and B of the round 1 stage entered the Super 12 round.

The Super 12 groups have Australia, England, South Africa and the West Indies in the first group, while Afghanistan, India, New Zealand and Pakistan have been included in the second group.

Charith Asalanka:

In the T20 World Cup 2021, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by five wickets.  Charith Asalanka from Sri Lanka hit his first T20I half-century in the Super 12 Group 1 match that was held in Sharjah scoring 80 runs in 49 balls.

Mohammad Rizwan:

In 2021, Rizwan played in 18 T20 International games, scoring 831 runs at an incredible average of 103.87 and a strike rate of 140.37, with a top score of 104. He scored 79 runs in 55 balls during the T20 match held between Inida and Pakistan. Rizwan is already the player with the most T20 International runs in current year.

Jatinder Singh:

Indian-origin Oman cricketer Jatinder Singh,played an unbeaten knock of 73 runs off 42 balls winning over Papua New Guinean in a Group B round one match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Oman.

Pathum Nissanka:

The Sri Lankan scored 72 runs in 58 balls in the Super 12 match against South Africa. Although, Pathum’s side lost the match his innings ensured a respectable total on the board.

Jos Buttler:

The English opener was blazing against Australia as he smashed 71 runs in 32 balls with a strike rate of 221.88. He ensured the continuation of England’s perfect start.
