Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday replied to a letter written by the former prime minister and Congress leader Manmohan Singh, who had sought details of COVID-19 vaccine orders from PM Narendra Modi. Seeking ‘constructive cooperation’ from the 88-year-old former PM, Vardhan also took a dig at his party Congress.

“History shall be kinder to you Dr Manmohan Singh ji if your offer of ‘constructive cooperation’ and valuable advice was followed by your @INCIndia  leaders as well in such extraordinary times !” the health minister tweeted.

“In all humility, a word of advice to you as well, Dr Manmohan Singh ji ! A learned man of your stature could do well to surround himself with better advisors. All suggestions given by you have been implemented a week prior to your letter. PS : There’s value in staying updated!” Harsh Vardhan said in a tweet.

The Union Health Minister asked the former prime minister’s advice to “not get tempted to go by absolute numbers, but to go by percentage of population covered is not correct.” Harsh Vardhan asked Singh to ask “junior members of Congress to follow your advice.”
