Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Hiyanglam assembly constituency defeating Dr. Huidrom Jiten Singh of the Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 2,029 votes.
Hiyanglam assembly constituency has Dr. Huidrom Jiten Singh of the Indian National Congress (INC) taking on Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Elangbam Dwijamani Singh of the Janata Dal (United) this year in the Manipur assembly elections.

Dr. Radheshyam Yumnam of the BJP had won the Hiyanglam seat in 2017 when the INC swept Manipur winning 28 of Manipur’s 60 assembly seats. Yumnam had beaten his closest rival Elangbam Dwijamani Singh by over 1,725 votes. Singh had contested that election on a Congress ticket.
In 2012, the seat was won by Maibam Kunjo of the TMC.
Hiyanglam falls under the Thoubal district and the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, which is made up of 28 assembly seats.

Lorho S. Pfoze of Naga People’s Front represented Outer Manipur as a member of Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Pfoze defeated Houlim Shokhopao Mate from the BJP with a margin of 73,782 votes.

The Hiyanglam assembly constituency voted in the second phase of the Manipur elections on March 5, 2022, along with 21 other constituencies.
Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including Uttar Pradesh.
