Holy Saturday is a day where the devout emotionally and spiritually prepare themselves for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. It happens on the 16th of April this year, a day after Good Friday.

Holy Saturday, commonly known as Easter Season, is included with a variety of ceremonies. In Mexico, the day is known as Judas Day, and many burn statues of Judas Iscariot, the betrayer of Jesus. This day is known as White Saturday in Czech tradition. On the same day, an hour after sundown, a vigil service remembers the time before the resurrection.

It is stated that Jesus Christ’s body was carried down from the cross and put in a freshly made tomb after his death. Christ would be raised on the third day, according to the ancient texts. On the third day after someone died, it was customary to bathe the body with specific oils and spices.

When Mary Magdalene, Salome, and Mary entered the cave where Christ’s body had been buried on the third day, they were surprised to discover that the body had vanished and only the clothes that had covered him remained. Christ presented himself and proved that he had been resurrected only a week later.
