A Pakistani cricket fan has hit the headlines after
extending his support to Virat Kohli during a Pakistan Super League (PSL)
match.

During a PSL 2022 match between Multan Sultans and Quetta
Gladiators at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, an ardent Kohli fan
shared a special message for the batting icon. He could be seen with a poster
in which he is asking the former captain to score a century in the country.

“I want to see your century in Pakistan #Peace,”
the message on the poster read and it was placed on top of an image of Kohli
batting.

The message quickly became the talk of the town and is
being widely shared on several social media platforms. Multiple fan pages have
shared the viral image of the Kohli fan on Twitter.

A fan wrote, “I am from Lahore and I can assure you he is
the biggest cricket star here”.

Another internet user said “Just think of the same scene
in IPL-a Babar picture in IPL. I am not surprised if the fan is killed”.

Former world champions India and Pakistan last played a
bilateral series in the 2012-13 season. Regarded as one of the greatest batsmen
in the modern era of the game, Kohli has not scored an international century
since 2019.

Despite a 14-year-long international cricket career,
Kohli has never played in Pakistan. Kohli has a good record in ODIs and T20Is
against Pakistan, but he has never played a Test match against the team.

He has scored 536 runs at an average of 48.72 in 13 ODIs
against Pakistan. In seven T20Is, he has scored 311 runs at an average of
77.75, but with a comparatively low strike rate of 118.25.

After Kohli announced that he was stepping down as Test
captain in January he received a lot of love and tributes from many former and
current Pakistan cricketers as well as fans. Earlier, he stepped down as T20I
captain and was sacked as ODI skipper.
