Mass vaccination for people above the age of 18 has begun nationwide in the third phase of the government’s mass rollout program. Some states like Maharashtra have postponed the vaccinations in some areas due to less resources. India has been the second-worst hit country in the world from COVID-19, with a spiralling second wave overburdenining its hospitals and medical resources. The number of fatalities have also been largely increased due to the shortage in medical oxygen available. Many states imposed strict curfew to control the spread of COVID-19.
