Railway examination’s alleged irregularities triggered protests in Bihar’s Gaya district starting Wednesday afternoon as job aspirants set ablaze a train coach.
Several protestors blocked roads in Patna as opposition parties and groups such as the All-India Students Union (AISA) called for a state-wide bandh on January 28 over the alleged erroneous results of Railway Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) exam 2021.
At least eight students and owners of six coaching centres have been named in an FIR for their alleged role in inciting violent protests linked to the process.
During the protests, the job aspirants had blocked the New Delhi-Kolkata main railway tracks. Hundreds of angry protesters also allegedly set ablaze a train in Bihar’s Arrah.
