Easter Sunday, a day observed worldwide, marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It occurs three days after Jesus was crucified. Christians from all across the world celebrate Easter with joy after 40 days of Lent, a period when believers practice strict self-restraint and sacrifice their favourite food and dessert.
This time, Easter weekend took place under restrictions because of global coronavirus surges. Millions of Christians around the world, including India, celebrated the occasion in a traditional manner though some rituals were cancelled in order to adhere to COVID-19 norms. The celebrations were cancelled completely in India last year as the outbreak was at its peak.
