England spinner Jack Leach said on Monday he was looking forward to performing in India’s spin-friendly pitches in his upcoming, maiden tour to the country, AFP reported.
England will begin
their four-Test India tour on Friday in Chennai, with their opponents already
sitting atop the ICC Test Championship table.

“It’s just a
great opportunity. They are obviously a quality side that has come at the back
of a great win in Australia,” AFP quoted the left-arm spinner as saying,
who recently scalped 10 wickets in Sri Lanka, another sub-continental side.
Leach further
stated he was excited at the thought of taking on the Indian batting order
under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
The touring side
will be begin practicing in Chennai on Tuesday, after returning COVID-19
negative tests following six days of quarantine.
The Indian team, on
the other hand, will see Virat Kohli, who became a father recently, return to
the squad as the skipper, after finishing the series in Australia under the
able hands of Ajinkya Rahane who recorded a series win in down under in
January.
Kohli had left the
team after the first Test in Adelaide, going off for a paternity leave.

The spinner from
Somerset, however, is leaving no stone unturned, as he sets forward towards his
mission in India.
“I have done
some reflecting. I have bowled a few in the mirror. Eager to get back tomorrow
and some day’s training before the first Test”, the 29-year-old, who has so far
claimed 44 wickets in 12 Tests for his side, including two five-wicket hauls,
said.
