In between Rohit Sharma’s dismissal and Virat Kohli’s arrival at the crease on Day 3, Daniel Jarvis, known as Jarvo, invaded the pitch again. The Englishman, who had pretended to be an Indian fielder at Lord’s, padded up as a batsman and looked to take strike before the security personnel rushed in and took him off. Skipper Virat Kohli (45) and Cheteshwar Pujara (91) will resume India’s second innings at 215/2 on Day 4.
Jarvo walked in wearing a helmet, pad and gloves. He was wearing a mask too.
“Just the one change, Jarvo 69 comes in for Virat Kohli,” a Twitter user posted his video.
Watch:
Jarvo had managed to breach the stadium security at Lord’s during the second Test. He had entered the field as an Indian fielder.
Indian off-spinner, who has been benched in this series so far, Ravi Ashwin asked Jarvo to ‘stop doing this’.
“Today’s play was as good as it can get with @ImRo45 @cheteshwar1 @imVkohli and Jaarvo showing great intent and grit! Keep going fellas and stop doing this Jaarvo. #IndvsEng,” Ashwin tweeted.
Meanwhile, an under-fire Cheteshwar Pujara played one of his most aggressive knocks as the Indian top order showed plenty of resolve to keep the third Test against England alive with two more days remaining.

Pujara, who has been pilloried of late for his ultra-defensive approach and castigated for not showing enough “intent”, smashed 16 boundaries in his 91 not out off 180 balls on the third day.
With this knock, he overshadowed the two megastars in skipper Virat Kohli and the supremely-talented Rohit Sharma. It’s a rarity but Friday was one of those days when the cricketing gods sided with Pujara.
Opener Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 59. At the close of play, the visitors trailed by 139 runs.

England, who began the day at 423 for eight, could only bat for 3.2 overs in the morning session with Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah removing Craig Overton and Ollie Robinson respectively.
Mohammed Shami (4/95) was the most successful bowler for India with four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja (2/88), Mohammed Siraj (2/86) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/59) were the other wicket-takers.
India were all out for 78 in their first innings on the opening day.
