The Board
of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday confirmed the final list of
292 players that will go under the hammer, at the mini-auction scheduled to be
held in Chennai on February 18, for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier
League (IPL).

A total of
1,114 players had registered for the upcoming auction and the final list was
prepared after the eight franchises finalised their shortlist. 164 Indian and
125 overseas players, including three from associate nations, have made final
list for the auction.

There are
ten players in the highest base price bracket of Rs 2 crore, with eight overseas
players – including Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Shakib al Hasan among others –
and two Indians – Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav.

The eight
franchises have 61 slots to fill, with Royal Challengers Bangalore having the highest
number of vacancies with 13, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have the least with three.
Kings XI Punjab have the biggest purse (Rs 53.1 crore) and Sunrisers have the
least (Rs 10.75 crore).

Notably, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun, a left-arm medium fast bowler who recently made it to Mumbai’s T20 squad, has also been included in the final list. 

The auction is scheduled to be held in Chennai on February 18 and will start at 3:00 pm.
