Knight Riders (KKR) kept their hopes alive in the tournament after beating eliminated
SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six wickets in a must win game. The 49th
match between KKR and SRH played on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium where
Kane Williamson led Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first but could
not take much advantage as the Hyderabad posted just 115 runs on board after
losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

After losing
two early wickets in power play, there was a huge responsibility on Captain,
Kane Williamson and he was batting really well and slowly advancing the innings
but his batting did not last long.

In the 7th over of Hyderabad innings, Captain Eoin Morgan introduced Shakib Al Hasan in to
the attack who was playing his first match in the second leg of ongoing VIVO
IPL. In his 5th delivery, Williamson was on strike. Shakib bowled a
straight ball on the wicket and Williamson guided the ball towards short mid
wicket region and called non striker Priyam Garg for a quick single.

Shakib sensed
this and immediately rushed towards the ball and he gathered the ball and
throws the ball at bowler’s end where Williamson was running. His accurate one
bounce throw end the skipper’s innings who fall short of the crease and this
single of Williamson cost him dearly.

Since the
second leg of tournament  resumed KKR
have been in a good form as they have won four  in their last six games. For KKR, Varun
Chakravarthy, Tim Southee and Shivam Mavi showed brilliant bowling performance
and took two wickets each.

KKR reached
116 targets in 19.4 overs, scoring 119 in four. Opener Shubman Gill played
excellent inning of 57 0ff 51 balls and in the end Dinesh karthik 18 not out
off 12 balls finished the game.

After 13
games, Kolkata are currently fourth in the IPL 2021 points table with six wins
and seven defeats. Currently, SRH is at the bottom of the table with two wins
and 10 losses.
