Amid auction fever, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma shared a picture of some Team India players on Instagram. In the picture, the group of ace players can be seen tensely glaring at a television screen, watching the ongoing IPL 2022 mega auction event unfold. 

Sharma shared the picture of his teammates on his Instagram story. Cricketers Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav can be seen sitting together. Iyer and Kishan are seen smiling. The duo has been acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians respectively. Iyer was picked up for Rs. 12.25 crore, while Kishan became the second most expensive cricketer with a Rs.15.25 crore bid.

According to Hindustan Times, Kishan stated, “I’m really excited to be back at MI. I know everyone has treated me there like a family so I am really happy to be there and I hope to give my best to the team. Thank you so much.”

Pant, who served as the captain of Delhi Capitals was also retained by the franchise. Chahal, Shardul, and Suryakumar are yet to be auctioned.  

Sharing the image, Sharma wrote, “Some tensed and some happy faces.” The picture was uploaded nearly 5 hours ago.

As of late, Team India has been prepping for their upcoming T20I series vs West Indies.

The ongoing mega auction has had its fair share of drama and collapses. From cricket icon Suresh Raina remaining unsold to auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsing mid-way, the events at the auction continue to make headlines.

After Edmeades’ collapse, sports presenter Charu Sharma took over as the stand-in auctioneer. 

A statement by the official Twitter handle of IPL read, “Mr. Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL auction this afternoon. The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable. Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with the Auction proceedings today.”
