IPL 2022: Kolkata Knight Riders hope to find ideal 11 vs Rajasthan Royals
- Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
- KKR are on a five-match losing streak
- Rajasthan Royals come to the game after a loss against the Mumbai Indians
Kolkata Knight Riders have lost five matches in a row and are now placed at the eighth rung of the IPL 2022 points table. Shreyas Iyer and co will look to get back to winning ways when they face the Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Monday.
KKR's top-order has been struggling. Venkatesh Iyer has 132 runs, Nitish Rana has 200 and skipper Shreyas Iyer leads the team's charts with 290 runs in the season so far. They have been making regular changes at the top. Aaron Finch, Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane have been tested as openers. The team's middle-order in Andre Russell and Rinku Singh has also not fired consistently.
In order to make it to the playoffs and go forward in the season, KKR need to find their best XI and stick with it.
"A lot of chopping and changing is happening, it's been difficult to set up the right combination, with all injuries not helping as well. We need to stick together, play some fearless cricket, not be conservative with the bat. Five more matches remaining, we need to play well, show belief and give something back to the team and the management, forget about the past, start fresh and back your instinct," skipper Shreyas Iyer said after the last game.
Rajasthan Royals on the other hand come to this game after losing against the Mumbai Indians.
