The Royal Challengers Bangalore need the Mumbai Indians to beat the Delhi Capitals to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs. Faf du Plessis and co are on 16 points, fourth rung of the table, and DC are on 14 points. If Rishabh Pant’s men beat the five-time champions, they will leapfrong RCB and qualify for the knock outs.

In such a scenario, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, captain Faf du Plessis, senior batters Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, are cheering for Mumbai.

The team chaneged its profile picture on social media to show support for Rohit Sharma and co. 

After their win against Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans, Virat Kohli and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis had said that they are banking on Mumbai. 

“There are a couple of blue hats floating around our dressing room for the next couple of days. I am banking on Rohit (Sharma) to go big,” Du Plessis said after RCB’s win over Gujarat Titans.

Kohli, during a chat with Faf du Plessis posted on the IPL website, said, “We have two more supporters for Mumbai Indians on the 21st, not just two, I think 25 more supporters.”

Dinesh Karthik, who has been on fire this season, posted a throwback picture from his time at the Mumbai Indians camp. 

“Found this in archives. #IPL2022,” he said in the caption. 

The Royal Challengers Bangalore secured a win against the Gujarat Titans in their last leagye game. Chasing 169 runs, Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis shared a 115-run opening stand. While the former scored 73, the latter fell short of six runs for another half-century. Their side won by eight wickets.

The Mumbai Indians, who are already eliminated from IPL 2022, will take on the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday.
