The two time ISL winning team must still be nursing a grouse
for stumbling at the ultimate step the last season. It lost in the final against ATK, a mistake which must be weighing heavy on their minds.

Chennayin FC will play to correct that mistake this time.

Chennaiyin FC has had a decent run through all six seasons;
it has reached three finals, emerging victorious twice. The club has been the second
most successful of all clubs in the Indian Super League, and it is not expected
to let its guard down this time.

The team had a fairytale run the last season when it made a great
comeback making its way to the final from the bottom spot. The fans of the team
will have to be satisfied with some fond memories of the Lithuanian striker
Nerijus Valskis, who won the Golden Boot playing for the team last season, but
was traded off to Jamshedpur FC.

He was taken along with him by previous Chennaiyin FC coach
Owen Coyle, who was credited with the comeback pulled by the club. The reins of
the clubs are in hands of Csaba Laszlo now, who was brought in as the manager
in August this year.

The team will begin its ISL 2020-21 campaign on November
24 at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco da Gama, Goa and will be up against
ex-boss Owen Coyle’s Jamshedpur FC.

The team is owned by Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, and
cricketer MS Dhoni.
