After Nitish Kumar-led NDA clinched maximum numbers of seats in Bihar to claim victory, a win that was registered due to BJP’s exceptional performance in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, while thanking the people of Bihar, said, “People have expressed their faith in NDA for the fourth time. It’s not ordinary,” quoted ANI.

Talking about Nitish Kumar, who is set to take oath as CM of Bihar for the seventh time for his fourth term, the BJP leader said, “In Indian politics, there are very few CMs whom people trusted for the fourth time. They have given a clear mandate to NDA, there is no confusion,” reported ANI.

In the Bihar nail-biter that lasted for almost 20 hours, the NDA clinched 125 seats with the BJP has secured 74 seats while Kumar’s RJD has got only 43 seats. From 53 in 2015 to 74 this time, the BJP zipped past the JD(U) that has fallen to 43, down 28 from 2015.

“In an alliance, not all parties win an equal number of seats. Who won how many seats is irrelevant, people voted for NDA,” the Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Bihar deputy CM said.

Modi further added, “BJP played a role in JD(U)’s victory & JD(U) played a role in BJP’s victory. JD(U), BJP, VIP & HAM worked together, then we registered this victory,” quoted news agency ANI.

The JD(U)’s performance also took a big blow from Chirag Paswan’s LJP, which broke off from the ruling alliance days before the elections and put up 137 candidates, all against Kumar’s party. The LJP recorded its worst-ever performance, winning just one seat, but dented the JD(U) chances in at least 75 seats.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan secured 110 seats, with RJD, which emerged as the single largest party in Bihar polls, grabbing 75 seats.
