A large metal ring was found in Maharashtra‘s Chandrapur district on Sunday, mere hours after residents witnessed objects in the sky leaving a bright trail of fire.

“Yesterday night, we received information about a 3-metre ring being found in a village in Sindewahi. The ring was hot and seemed like it has fallen from the sky. A spherical object was found in another village today morning,” Chandrapur Tehsildar Ganesh Jagdale told news agency ANI.

Gulhane added that residents of Chandrapur came across an iron ring laying on a large ground on Saturday night.

“The metal ring was not there earlier, so it can be said that it fell (from the sky) yesterday,” he said.

Gulhane added that officials from Mumbai’s disaster management control room will visit the district to examine the bizarre objects.

According to experts, the scraps could be parts of rocket boosters following a satellite launch.

“I believe this is the reentry of a Chinese rocket stage, the third stage of the Chang Zheng 3B serial number Y77 which was launched in Feb 2021 – it was expected to reenter in the next hour or so and the track is a good match,” McDowell said.

The cylindrical object found in the district is nearly 1.5 feet in diameter.
