The March sessions of JEE Mains 2021 examination are set to
be held today, as part of the new four-attempts system undertaken by the
National Testing Agency (NTA).

The second phase of JEE Mains examinations are being held
from March 16 to March 18, a part of the total four phases set to be conducted
throughout the year. The regulations allow for each student to take the exam four
times and get their highest NTA score enlisted for the rank list.

The examinations are going to be held in a total of four
sessions this year (February, March, April and May).

Scheduled to be held from March 16 to March 18 in two shifts
every day, the first shift of the test will be taking place from 9 am to 12 pm,
whereas the second one would be held between 3 pm and 6 pm.

For the February session held earlier, a total of 6,61,776
candidates had applied for appearing in the exam. For March, the number would
be limited to 5,04,540.

Things to carry

On the day of the examination, the candidate would have to carry
JEE Main admit card, a valid ID proof, and a photograph. The photo would have
to be the same as the one uploaded in the application form.

Alongside the admit card, a self-declaration would also need
to be carried to the examination centre, in which all the necessary details
would need to be filled in prior to reaching the centre, and would also need to
paste a photo and their thumb impression on it.

The signature would be done in front of the invigilator.

In view of COVID-19, the guidelines further state hand
sanitiser (50 ml) to be carried by the candidate, alongside a transparent
ballpoint pen and a transparent water bottle.

Regulations

Candidates are required to wear masks at the examination centre.
Masks would also be available in the centre. As per NTA regulations, outfits
with thick soles and garments with large buttons are not permitted for the
examinations, which further adds that in case of religious/customary requirement,
the concerned candidate would have to reach the centre early.

Paper contents

The examination in March will only be featuring Paper 1of JEE
Main for B Tech/B.E. The paper would include 90 questions for the total of 300
marks, of which the student would need to answer 75, translating to 25
questions from each of the three subjects.
