Kaimganj assembly constituency has Arun Kumar of the Jan Adhikar Party taking on Dr. Surabhi of Apna Dal (S), Prashant Kumar of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Durga Prasad of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Sarvesh Ambedkar of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Shankuntala of the Congress this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Amar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party had won the Kaimganj seat in 2017, when the BJP swept Uttar Pradesh winning 312 of UP’s 403 assembly seats. Singh had beaten his closest rival Dr. Surabhi  by over 36,525 votes. Dr. Surabhi had contested that election on a SP ticket.

In 2012, the seat was won by Ajit Kumar of the SP .

Kaimganj falls under the Farrukhabad district and the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency, which is made up of five assembly seats.

Mukesh Rajput of the Bhartiya Janata Party represented Farrukhabad as a member of Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Rajput defeated Manoj Aggarwal from the Bahujan Samaj Party with a margin of 2,21,702 votes.

The Kaimganj assembly constituency will vote in the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 20, 2022, along with 58 other constituencies in 16 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
