Kamal Haasan has entered the non-fungible token (NFT) industry and is set to become the first Indian celebrity to have his digital avatar in the metaverse. This comes after superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s NFT collection broke all bid records in India, proving to be the most successful NFT in India to date.

Bachchan’s ‘Madhushala’ NFT collections, signed posters, and collectibles fetched approximately Rs 7.18 crore in an auction conducted by BeyondLife.club. The auction began on November 1 and ended on November 4.

Haasan has collaborated with Fantico, a licensed digital collectibles marketplace through Lotus Media Entertainment.

The actor will introduce his digital avatars, NFTs, and make his metaverse debut on the platform.

“I am excited to explore the emerging intersection of the digital and physical world which is now becoming popularly known as metaverse,” said Kamal Haasan.

“My life’s journey of over six decades has blurred the distinction between my personal and professional life and will be my offering for this metaverse,” Haasan added.

Fantico intends to establish a game-based metaverse in which Haasan will have his own universe. However, specifics about the metaverse and his virtual environment are being kept under wraps for the time being.

The NFTs are expected to be available on www.kamal.fantico.io. The platform will begin by releasing a list of NFTs that will bring his admirers closer to the legend.

According to the platform, Kamal Haasan has always experimented with different genres of films, his appearance in those films, and the usage of technology. It’s only reasonable for him to make an appearance in the virtual world, which is predicted to be the future of entertainment.

Fans of Haasan will be able to engage with his digital avatars on Fantico, as well as purchase tangible and digital mementos and souvenirs, and meet and greet sessions with the actor.
