Kannada film actor-couple Diganth Manchale and Aindrita Ray appeared before the Central Crime Branch(CCB) on Wednesday in connection with a drug case, reported PTI.

In a tweet, Aindrita Ray had informed fans “We have received a telephonic notice from the Central Crime Branch for an ongoing enquiry at 11 am tomorrow (Wednesday). We will be present and fully cooperate with the CCB.” 

The CCB which is already probing drug abuse in the Kannada film industry had issued a notice to the actor couple on Tuesday.

The development comes a day after police raided the resort- bungalow of Aditya Alva, son of former minister late Jeevraj Alva. The CCB has already nine people in the case, among the arrested are actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. 

Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested on September 8 by the Central crime branch. Galrani’s residence at  Indira Nagar was also raided and she was arrested after the raid. The Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil had said that the raid was conducted after a warrant was obtained from the court.

Actor Ragini Dwivedi was also arrested along with Rahul Khanna, Viren Khanna and K Ravishankar on September 4. Patil had stated that Viren Khanna was “the main person who organises big parties where drugs are consumed. He was in Delhi and two CCB police inspectors had gone to Delhi and arrested him.”
