Karnataka government on Friday issued fresh COVID-19 guidelines amid surging virus cases in the state, reported ANI. According to the new protocols, schools for classes 6-9 will remain shut along with gyms, swimming pools.

Karnataka, which is one of India’s biggest contributors to COVID-19 infections and is reportedly reeling with a second wave of novel-coronavirus, on Thursday recorded 4,234 new COVID-19 cases.

Here’s a list of what will be operational and what’s closed as per the new guidelines in Karnataka.

What’s closed or non-operational

1- Schools for classes6 to 9 (physical presence not mandatory for higher standards)

2- Religious gatherings will be prohibited

3- Swimming pools, malls gyms

4- Classes for higher and professional courses to be suspended

5- Election rallies and dharnas will be banned

What’s open or operational

1- Cinema halls are allowed to operate with 50% of total capacity

2- Malls, stores, and markets can operate with the observation of COVID-19 protocols

3- Public transportation to remain unaffected but cannot capacitate more than required number
