Travis Dowlin’s wicket was taken by MS Dhoni in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. This is Dhoni’s only wicket in international cricket. MS Dhoni, who was the captain of the Indian side, decided to give the gloves to Dinesh Karthik and pick up the ball to bowl to an ailing West Indian side at 49/4.  No one really knew what to expect of Dhoni’s bowling, but cricket fans largely agree that his first two balls were awkward — landing two long-hops outside the off stump and hit for two straight boundaries. 

Dhoni’s third ball was an ordinary full delivery. But the fourth ball would make it to cricketing history. MS Dhoni ran in and delivered a good-length delivery in and around the ‘corridor of uncertainty’, and misjudging the length, Dowlin, who could not commit to either the back foot or the front foot, put in a half-hearted stride and attempted to dig the ball into the ground. But to Dowlin’s dismay, the ball nipped back in sharply and took the inside edge of his bat and clattered onto the stumps.
