Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s 15-member on Tuesday for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Indian batsman KL Rahul failed to make the team after not playing any Test cricket for more than a year. Rahul has played 36 Test matches since his debut in 2014.

Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal are also among the openers to miss out on the selection for the squad. Rahul also missed out on making the squad for the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka. And here is how the fans reacted to Rahul failing to make the teams:

It does not come as a surprise since Rahul has not played any red-ball cricket since 2019. While nothing is confirmed, the first-choice openers the team opted for were Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Rahul was also competing with Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant for the wicketkeeper’s spot in the team. But Pant, with his recent performances, cemented his place in the team as the first-choice wicketkeepers.
