Amul, a dairy brand, has paid homage to Bharat Ratna  Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, 2022. In a monochromatic tweet, Amul shared a new cartoon featuring the celebrated singer and captioned it, “Tribute to the ‘Nightingale of India’!”

Three pictures of Lata Mangeshkar are featured in the doodle: one shows her singing with a mic stand, another shows her holding a veena, and the third shows her as a child. The picture also contains text that says, “Hum jahan jahan chalenge aapka saaya saath hoga.”

The legendary singer died on Sunday at the age of 92 in a Mumbai hospital. In January, she was admitted to the hospital after contracting COVID-19.

The last rites of the singer were conducted at Shivaji Park in Mumbai with full state honours last evening and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a tribute in person to the singer, whom he referred to as his ‘badi didi’ (elder sister). Modi was accompanied by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, many of whom had close family ties to Lata Mangeshkar.

Modi walked over to the enclosure where the Mangeshkar clan, including Asha Bhosale, Usha Mangeshkar, Meena Mangeshkar, and Hridaynath Mangeshkar, and other close family members were gathered, and offered his condolences.

Several celebrities attended the funeral, including actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor,  Aamir Khan,  Shraddha Kapoor, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, singer Anuradha Podwal, musician Shankar Mahadevan, and actor Vidya Balan and her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.
