Loni assembly constituency has Nand Kishor Gurjar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  taking on Mandan Bhaiya of the RLD-SP alliance, Mohd Yamin Malik of the Congress and Akil of the BSP in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022.

Nand Kishor Gurjar had won the Loni seat in 2017, when the BJP swept Uttar Pradesh winning 312 of the UP’s 403 assembly seats. Nand Kishor Gurjar had defeated his rival by a margin of 1,13,080 votes over Zakir Ali of the BSP.

In 2012, the seat was won by Zakir Ali of the BSP.

The Loni assembly constituency will vote in the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 10, 2022, along with 57 other constituencies in 11 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3.

Loni is a part of the Ghaziabad district and one of the five assembly constituencies in the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
